Church of Christ at Will Clayton
The Church of Christ was established by Jesus Christ in A.D. 33 on the Jewish feast day, Pentecost (Acts 1:1-5; Revelation 21:2-3; Acts 2:1-47). The foundation that was laid by the apostles was Jesus Christ, not man (1 Corinthians 3:9-11). The congregation that assembled together under God's guidance on Will Clayton Pkwy (formerly Wilson Road) is a duplicate of what the apostle gave us as an example in the book of Acts (Acts 14:21-23). We began with eight saints and faith in the word of God (Hebrews 11:1, 6) with our first service being January 5, 2003. God gave us our help through the Highland Heights Church of Christ in Houston where Robert Harper served as the minister. They stood by us faithfully for two years, as was their commitment to us. We are eternally grateful for them allowing God to display their love towards us. We also received our song books from the South Union Church of Christ in Houston where James Robertson served as the minister at that time.
Having now served Humble, Texas faithfully for 19 years, we are so thankful to God for His gift of Jesus Christ, His son and the indwelling of the Holy Ghost as our guide. We are grateful for the saints, which came from other congregations to help us in our quest to save not only ourselves but others as well (1 Timothy 4:16).
We have been blessed to have a presence in the community by spreading the gospel through door-knocking and offering bible classes in the home. We are so grateful for his government he established in the New Testament (Philippians 1:1; 2 Timothy 4:5). We also have been blessed to have God's support in allowing us to have a radio program where we have access to air unlimited numbers of listeners who can call in bible questions live.
There has been tremendous success at our congregation, but there is still much work to be done. We have God as our help, the prayers of the saints, the zeal of faithful members, scriptural leaders in place, the guidance of the Holy Ghost, and the love of Christ, how can anyone or anything keep us from the love of God (Romans 8:37-39). To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever. Amen. (Romans 16:27).
